Who Are We?
She Said, She Said is a blog and weekly podcast series co-hosted by lesbian couple Genia and Andrea. The ladies address every lesbian-related issue they can think of: dating, parenting, sex, sexuality, gender, music, books, films, you name it.
I’m Genia. I’m a small town southern girl who moved to Wisconsin to become a small town midwestern girl. I joined the Navy at age 18, got married at 19, had two babies by age 21, came out the closet as a lesbian at the age of 23 and was divorced by age 29. Yeah, I know. What took so long with that damn divorce, right?
I love music. I love food. I love women. In that exact order. I have a Masters in Business (MBA) and I’m a social media strategist to pay the bills. For fun and gas money, I write bitchy commentary and I interview celebrities (name drop, name drop, name drop and . . . name drop).
My favorite TV show is Family Guy. My favorite book is Playboy (just kidding!). My favorite drink is Bacardi and Diet (hook a sista up!). My favorite movie is Friday – actually, it’s tied with Napoleon Dynamite.
I hope you’re as entertained with She Said, She Said as we are. Welcome to our world.
I’m Andrea. I’m a Midwestern girl who grew up in Minnesota and have lived in Wisconsin for 13 years. No, I don’t play hockey! I am a teacher and am also an avid cyclist when I’m not teaching. My love for biking brought me to a new level this year when I rode 300 miles as a fundraiser for the AIDS Network. Most think I’m crazy to ride 300 miles in 4 days, but I love it and can’t wait for the next ride!
I like listening to music and love finding new music and artists. I also love art and hanging out at art museums on a rainy afternoon. I have spent a lot of time in college and I mean a lot! The remainder of my time was spent doing volunteer work with AmeriCorps. My experiences were awesome and provided me with the chance to meet new people, travel and to help others. If I could do anything for a year, I would pack up my stuff and drive around the country just to see new things, taste new foods, listen to new music and get out of this iceberg of a state.
