Genia: In the past, I’ve had serious issues with my mental health. I learned that painful memories don’t disappear just because you’ve left your abusive childhood home. Until the day I left home at age 17, my mother beat me severely. I thought leaving home would make it all go away. It doesn’t. At age 29, I had a mental health breakdown and spent some time in a mental health facility. I like to believe I’m a happier and healthier person today.
Andrea: I have never been a patient in a facility. I have recently started going to a therapist for mental health purposes. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good connection with her so I am currently without therapy. Anyone know of any good therapists?

Genia : And so are you a happy personne now ?
Andrea : Therapy is a good thing for people who have deep issues, but if you cant afourd or find a good therapist witch you have a conection witch, and trust. Then go to your friends, or family. to the people you trust more, find a shoulder to cry on and to tell your story. Friends can be a grate way to let go of past issues. ( But you should always see a trained professional, if you have bad thoughts.)
I have several stays in a mental health facility. Often times the AA community will not look at these issues as valid. When you truly have serious mental health issues it is something you have to be engaged in on a continuous basis.
Three days after I turned 19, I had an episode (I tried suicide). My best friend found me and I went to the hospital, and was committed to a mental facility for 6 weeks inpatient and 6 months outpatient. Nothing since- yet.
Jean-Phylipe: I’m 100% happier than I was then.
made the mistake of trying to come out in 1986 when I was a junior in high school the news to several was negative so I had threatend to kill myself and ended up in the psych ward at a nearby hospital for a week with the last year in misery for myself in high school, I am now and have been for the last 21 years a closet case bisexual married with 2 children who have helped me live through everything until the day that I can finally come back out.
Lauren: Sorry to hear about your devastating coming out experience.
Hopefully someday you’ll feel ready to come out – and let’s hope it won’t be as painful this time.
