Happy New Year!
Filed Under Gender | Leave a Comment
Andrea and I want to wish everyone a very happy New Year. I won’t be making any resolutions because I have committed to making positive lifestyle changes every chance I get, not just on January 1.
We plan to party tonight – no big surprise there, right? If I’m sober enough, I’ll snag some pictures.
Last New Year’s Eve, my first kiss of the year was with a pretty redhead server who worked at my favorite restaurant. It was just a kiss. Nothing more. About 12 days later, I met Andrea. I didn’t know she’d be in my life 11 days later, otherwise I would’ve waited.
Anyway, enjoy your evening – and be safe.

Genia: In the past, I’ve had serious issues with my mental health. I learned that painful memories don’t disappear just because you’ve left your abusive childhood home. Until the day I left home at age 17, my mother beat me severely. I thought leaving home would make it all go away. It doesn’t. At age 29, I had a mental health breakdown and spent some time in a mental health facility. I like to believe I’m a happier and healthier person today.
Andrea: I have never been a patient in a facility. I have recently started going to a therapist for mental health purposes. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good connection with her so I am currently without therapy. Anyone know of any good therapists?

Genia: I have always been a staunch advocate of separate spaces under the same roof. For Andrea, it took some convincing. I need my space. I need a place where I can disappear, close the door and enjoy some uninterrupted me-time. I’ve never cared much for living with someone who needs to be within 2 feet of me all day, every day.
Andrea: I think it is a great idea to have your own room. I know that I am a messy person and wouldn’t have to worry about picking my socks up off the floor if I didn’t want to. I also know that it is important for me to have a place that I can escape to if I need space. My bedroom would have all of my things and be a space for just me. As for the sleeping arrangement, I would still want to pick one room as the sleeping room.

When Was the Last Time You Went to Church?
Filed Under Religion | 3 Comments
Genia: I dropped someone off at church about a year ago. Before that, I hadn’t been anywhere near a church parking lot in about eight years. I consider myself a spiritual person, not a religious one. Organized religion seems very rigid and oppressive. I prefer talking to Jesus when I’m in the shower.
Andrea: I went last Christmas with my family. I consider myself to be more of a spiritual person rather then a religious person. I have always had a deep spiritual connection while enjoying the outdoors. My love of biking, hiking, and just enjoying nature has been a great opportunity to get in touch with the spiritual energy I feel when I’m outside.

Name Your Favorite Lesbian-Themed Film or Movie
Filed Under Films, Movies | 6 Comments
Genia: But I’m a Cheerleader was funny as hell! I also loved Aimee and Jaguar.
Andrea: I always liked High Art which was directed by Lisa Cholodenko. I saw this movie as a young lesbian and liked that the movie was about an artist. Because I was an artist myself, I was connected to the main character played by Ally Sheedy. I do have to note that I was never a drug-addicted photographer like her character.

Anal Play – Yay or Nay?
Filed Under Sex | Leave a Comment
Genia: You can spank my ass all you want, but penetration is a no-no. I also love having my ass scratched really hard in the heat of the moment. That’s hot!
Andrea: I like some anal action from time to time. It is not something that I want a lot of but think it’s fun to throw in every now and then. I’ve used toys like anal beads that are a great to use upon climax.

Is There a Racial Group That You Have Crossed Off Your Dating Possibilities List?
Filed Under Race | Leave a Comment
Genia: Until I’ve tasted them all, I’m not ruling anyone out. I love beautiful women from all racial and ethnic groups.
Andrea: Nope! I think that I’ve always been open to dating women of any racial group. Due to some of my geographic locations, I have had limited access to women outside my racial group. I think the Internet has been a great way to stretch beyond your immediate area if you live in an area with little racial differences.
